What to do when you hit a plateau in training?

Lifting weights is fun, but hitting a plateau is never an answer that a heavy lifter wants to hear. I’ve been there and it truly felt like it was the end for me to build anymore strength, but then i realized i had to change the way i was looking at things. Hitting a plateau just means you have to change the way you’re eating and going about things at the gym (or at home if you don’t attend a gym). If you are throwing on 45’s after another, but you don’t seem to be going anywhere; change it by adding small increments of weights such as 5lbs or even 2.5lbs (if you gym does provide those 2.5lbs). It might not seem like much but you will definitely feel a difference when you are well over your max pound for pound (personal record). In other words; don’t let this plateau get in your head just look at yourself and tell yourself things have to change and perceive yourself in such a way that you don’t lose confidence in yourself and strive for those goals!
